Specialist Areas
We refer to hand, fingers, feet, elbow, armpit, knee, face, ears and neck as specialist areas.
These areas pose obvious challenges due to their frequent use during the healing process.
Hands and feet for example are uneven surfaces with delicate skin and bone structures, which make tattooing them much more difficult than other body areas.
These areas are believed to be more painful and the healing process can be slower. We would always recommend a thorough pre appointment exfoliation and moisturisation routine to ensure that the area is in good condition. We recommend taking time off work the week after your tattoo.
Please note that for these reasons’ tattoos done in some specialist areas may be more prone to ink blow out (where the ink spreads underneath the skins surface), and ink drop out.
Be aware that, after your specialist tattoo is healed, you may need to have the tattoo retouched. Retouching of specialist areas is not included within the original cost or free touchups.
Fingers for example are prone to requiring re touching. Please ensure you have researched online and fully understand the risks associated with finger tattoos.
We do not accept any responsibility for wear and fading.
Certain specialist areas require constant retouching, such as the sides of the finger; for these reasons we do not undertake these tattoos.
As with all tattoos there is a risk of infection.
